The completed NSK Toyama heat treatment plant
The purpose of relocating part of the heat treatment process at the Fujisawa Plant to NSK Toyama
The Fujisawa Plant, located in the Konuma area, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, has been engaged in the production of bearings since 1937, including the entire production process of turning, heat treatment, grinding, and assembly of industrial machinery bearings. In addition, since NSK Toyama was founded in 1966, it has been forging and turning bearings for wind power generation and steel.
This time, in order to avoid the risk of disasters such as earthquakes and floods and ensure the production of large bearings, NSK will move part of the heat treatment performed at the Fujisawa Plant to NSK Toyama. To this end, NSK Toyama built a new plant, which is mainly responsible for forging, turning and heat treatment of bearings for wind power generation. In this plant, while utilizing and expanding the existing forging and turning processing equipment, it has also been optimized and adjusted to introduce the latest heat treatment processing technology to improve the level of environmental protection and quality. In addition, by optimizing and adjusting the existing forging and turning processing equipment, and implementing automated handling, the efficiency and safety of the factory are further improved.
